Maleic modified rosin esters are the resins of choice for thermoplastic hot-melt road marking formulations where a high degree of aliphatic solvent resistance is required, i.e. gasoline, grease, etc. These resins function as the binder component in a mixture that typically includes plasticizers, glass beads, pigments, fillers and other modifiers. Several products are available for this use in flake form.
